cheap supplier of base rock?

Google has not been my friend to find mail-order suppliers of base rock. The LFS sells base at $2 a lb and I'm pretty sure I can get cheaper. Apparently those places that sell marine supplies tend to not have any clue how to run/use a website with proper search terms. :P

The only place I can find right now is this: http://www.marcorocks.com/ for $.89 a lb but the rock looks very dense and non-porous so you're paying extra for all the poundage.

Would the $2 a lb. base (it's cured and not dry) rock from the LFS be a decent deal, or does anyone recommend a mail-order that is cheaper?

I bought the 25lb Fiji rock from Marco for a nano. It looks great and cheaper than "lace" rock at my LFS . It looks just like the stuff they want $9 lb for!!! R

I also need to find a bunch. $2/lb locally. Seems pricey when there is an LFS around here that has fiji LIVE rock for $2.99.

Google Caribsea Honeycomb... it's a major brandname of calcium carbonate base rock. Usually it comes in 50lb boxes and can be had for around $80 shipped... if you have a LFS that sells their products you can ask them if they could order you a case, but probably be about $100+ from a LFS. So basically if you get a deal online then yes it can be had for $1.70 or something a lb shipped, other than that you can make your own?

Just for the record I never got around to ordering a case, but when I did my searching for baserock it's what I came up with.
