In my opinion, don't do it.

It is mostly hype.

I have been using this for about a month and have not seen any increase in coraline algae even though it says can take 3 months. It also makes the glass look cloudy. It contains iodine which helps my shrimp molt which he did twice since dosing this stuff. He only used to every couple months or so. I am considering using a 2 part called b-ionic instead.

i strongly agree with Toddrtrex, i have been using Randys part 2 for about 4 years now, and still have about 45+ lbs. of Dowflake
ive used the carbonate (cooked baking soda) for the same amount of time, it keeps my pH @ 8.4 constant. i have to break coralline off my pumps to get them apart to clean em'.

Current Tank Info: SPS dominated barebottom display with BB sump since 2005, most consistant parameters in 19+ years of reefkeeping.
