Skimmer microbubbles in tank

I have been running a corallife superskimmer without problems for two months. But after my last water change I get too many microbubbles and they just overflow and go thru the microbubble diffuser into the tank (hang on skimmer -no sump). The superskimmer is a venturi style skimmer with a cylinder in cylinder design, when it was working well the micro bubbles were largely within the inner cylinder only and bubbled up thru the collection cup, now it seems to overflow into the outer cylinder and overwhelms the diffuser.

It seems like a problem with too many bubbles , but there is no adjustment for the venturi height is controled by resticting outflow.

Will change the filter pad in the bubble chamber tomorrow, but I don't think this is the problem because it started up so suddenly after the last water change. Any ideas beyond buy the super duper xxxx skimmer instead?

do you add anything to your water when you do water changes? prime anything water contioners?

Skimmers can be very touchy to adding stuff to the water.

No, just a str8 salt water top up caused the change. What I dont understand is why I suddenly got more micro bubles in the cylinders.

I have adjusted the spoge in the diffuser and moved it up 1/4 above the rim of the diffuser container, that seems to have helped with the bubbles in the overflow water, but I still get lots of bubbles getting thru the filter layer on the bottom and thru the diffuse container slots on the bottom
