420nm/460nm???

I need to replace my old actinic's and would like to know which spectrum would be better (420 or 460nm). I have a coralife aqualight pro with compact fluorescent over a mixed coral tank. Also replacing the MH with some reeflux 12000k 150watt lamps.
Would Current be a good choice of lamps??? I really like the blue color... would the dual actinic 420/460 be the best choice???

Thanks
Ed

I can't remember which one is which, but one is more blue, where as the other one is purplish. I personally am using the dual Current ones, and am pretty happy with them.

One isn't going to be better then the other, just which ever you prefer.

460nm I beleive is the purple color, whereas 420nm is the blue color. 460nm is the true atinic.

I love the dual atinics, will confirm blue is 420 and purple is 460.

Actually, you have that backwards. Remember ROY G BIV? Violet is the higher frequency light and thus has the shorter wavelength, so 420nm is more purple than 460nm. 420nm is your true actinic light. That said, although it makes the corals fluoresce better, it is rather purple. I hate PC actinics in general, but I agree the dual 420/460 is probably your best bet.

Purchase the dual. You will have a better actinic effect.
