My magnetic algae scraper has a build up on the piece that goes inside tank. It looks like its rusty. I scrubbed it but couldn't get it all off. I'm pretty sure i already know the answer but would it be safe to use or should i can it and buy a new one

thanks

no name on it.....it came with the setup i got from a buddy. I was looking at a mag float....but i think $250 is a bit steep. How could an algae cleaner be that expensive?

$250 bucks for a mag float? I think I paid $17 for the medium size. Easily big enough for my 75.

Mine looks a little rusty right now. It's coralline algae. Give it a white vinegar bath and it will scrape right off. Rinse it well and put it back in the tank all nice and clean.

There is one on that site that sells for $289.95. Magnavore 10 Magnet Cleaner. But it is for a tank with 1" - 1.5" thick glass.
