External Skimmer for 180 gallon tank
I have a 180 gallon tank that I have had running for almost 5 years but I have not put a skimmer on it. My sump area is not that large so I am looking for an external skimmer that is under 28 inches tall. What external skimmer do you recommend?

depends on how much cash you wannt blow. ATB medium or Orca 200 (not sure on heights, check them out). Otherwise if you wanna go cheaper Octopus Pro 250.

Id go with a octo 200 or something. or go used... I have a 2500$ euroreef skimmer on the way for me for 650$. and I chose that over an MR-8 that was 350(but I had to buy the 300$ pump still). both were on ebay, who knows whats on there now!

I just put the DAS EX-2 skimmer on my 180. It really pulls a ton of crap out of the water. It was under $550.

+1 on the DAS, I would look at a DAS EX 3 personally, but the EX2 will handle for a medium load. Best skimmer I have used for the money.
