They don't have powerful sting and they do not grow too fast. They should be ok.

I assume this is the type you are talking about. I've kept them for at least 5 years now and they do grow and will take over. I disagree about the sting mine tend to be quite powerful. I take measures to keep them in check from overgrowing. Other people have talked about their aggressive nature and warned me. I have heard of another polyp pretty much identical that requires supplemental feeding to survive. Mine do not.

I had a colony of yellow polyps recently grow too close to a green bird's nest in my tank. The yellow polyps stung it enough to let a bacterial infection take hold, which resulted in STN of the bird's nest. I had to frag the bird's nest down to about 1/3 its original size.

Yes, yellow polyps look cool. Yes, they spread fairly quickly. Yes, do keep an eye out when they start encroaching on other corals and cull them back as needed.

In a tank that small I woudlnt recommend putting something that is rather blah and grows extremely fast in there.

"blah" is of curse in the eye of the beholder, but your acreage is limited, so you need to be extra careful about what you put in there. I woudlnt suggest green star polyps either.

the bonus of having a tank that small is that it is relatively easy to simply keep what you want and start over at any time.

I think i will pass on them then. I could not part with my gsp as they are so beautiful in the tank. I love the color and their movement. I am keeping a watchfull eye on them so they do not come off the rock they are on and move over.

Thanks all for the replies.....
