wow.....very nice. I like the shelf rock....makes me glad I got shelf eco rocks. Just out of curiousity, how deep is the sand bed and what type of substrate (planning my 200g).

hey thanks! yeah, from the side the shelf protrusions look cool. plus there so much room on the shelf rock too. the sand bed used to be 4" of the fiji pink sand. i vacuum my sand bed once a month pretty much now - every fourth water change. i'll replace the sand once it start getting lower i think.

Are you suposed to vaccum your sand? or just let it be moved around by your snails ETC clean up crew? Only time i vaccumed my sand was when i moved and it was DIRTY!!!

When you syphon the sand are you just doing the top (not disturbing the bottom)??

SICK.

I second the shelf rock...looks awesome! It will look crazy when the SPS covers the top - create some awesome caves and crevices.

I can only see 3 pics though...?

yep - 2 x 4' 8 bulb 54w systems.

i've run quite a few different light systems since starting and have ended up quite happily with T5s now. before i switched to T5s i ran a 4' solaris w/ 2 MHs system but had to return since it had hardware issues - that said the colors were great with the solaris - it was easy to compare since I had halides on each side of it. before that i had all MHs pendants and colors were no where near that off the solaris and now the T5s. i probably will never use halides again just my own experience mind you.
