It didn't really do anything for my tank except make the sand look sloppy. It contains lots of small rocks and crushed coral and shells that ruined the white sand.

It is the stuff at the bottom of rock curing vats. IMO snake oil. Your tank will make plenty of its own grunge

good stuff if you have a plenum. Grunge Plus is good for a fine sand bed. I have used it in every tank but one that I have set up. No snake oil involved...
Thanks, Scott

I put some in my tank and the next day I had cayno all over it. The clean up crew I ordered was great.

This is an older thread however I thought i would post anyways. Although garf grunge is somewhat pricey i think it is well worth the price. You get a lot of biodiversty from it which is key to any tank. Also i believe that if you are starting a tank with dry rock garf will do wonders for you. I used dry rock from marco. After letting the dry rock cycle I added the garf grunge. This is what it looks like when you get it.
Bags of Garf Grunge Inside bags of Garf Grunge From this grunge i have a very diverse tank. More than what i actually saw in my aquapod which i used liverock. I still find new things in my tank that I never seen before. Biodiversty is key and the grunge helps a lot. However you could always just save the money and take a little sand from everyones tank you will get the same affect. 75 gallon display left, center, right a year after adding garf grunge I should add that along with the good things you also get bad things. For me it was flatworms. Not fun to deal with but most will have to deal with them at some point in time.
