T5HO in 30" tall tank
Do you think T5 lighting would be fine in a tall tank that is 30" from top to bottom? Or is would I have to go with the halides?

same question here, I was thinking in getting a big acrylic tank and I heard I shouldnt put halides over the acrylic (the eurobracing on the tank that Im looking is huge)

Depends on what you want to keep, If you want SPS on the bottom your gonna prob wanna go with halides
ganjero you would put the lights over the open sections of the eruro brace and unless you have your lights really close to the acrylic it's not really gonna be a problem anyways |

T5's penetrate deeper per watt than halides by their nature (more spread out source)... as long as you can get the power density over the tank that you desire, T5's are just as capable as halides.
