what size tank and what pump are you using...returns are pretty simple compared to drains or closed loops. I like to use true union ball valves when ever i can in case i have to remove the pump it makes it very easy. I am setting up a 110 and will be using a Q1 4000hh 1.25 pvc strait up the back and over the tank with lock line, very simple and i will use the true union like i said. good luck

This a pretty good pic of my sump setup....

I have a basement sump and fuge...

So the return pump (Reeflo Hammerhead) pulls both drains, then splits a few times...

First what you cant see is a true-union so the pump can be removed easily...

Then the main output has a ball valve, then a tee, which goes to a Y...

The first output of the Y goes to the Fuge (the fuge is actually a 72 Gal Bow-Front Reef-Ready AGA, so it has a drain coming into the sump as well) with a ball valve...

The second output of the Y goes to the UV also with a ball valve..

and of course the rest of the flow goes straight back the tank in a 1.5" Spa-Flex, which is split closer up at the outputs to two 3/4" with ball valves & check valves.

BTW, a couple of tips... Use Spa-flex, much easier to run and keeps everything quite

Also stick with a good return pump that decrease the current use when dialed back....
