Maybe I phrased that wrong. I know some clowns seem to take to certain corals and I was wondering which species of clowns and corals get along well together

I seen clowns in torch and frogspawn. They may irritate the coral though.

Mine pretty much hosts in anything, but he's taken a fancy to my toadstool of late.

Our little False Percula generally just swims around free, but every now and again he tries to host to our large toadstool leather.
It doesn't seem to bother the toadstool too much, although if you look closely you can see some of the "villi" have pulled in where he nestles up to it. The other thing it does, though, is make our sharknose goby have to relocate: The goby spends a lot of time sitting on the toadstool (which only happens to have pulled in the "villi" in this shot - generally they're out as in the first one). Often if he's not on the top surface he's hanging upside down just on the underside of the rim. |

My clown pair rarely leave the protection of the toadstool leathers. The leathers have never shown ill effects from their affections.
I know it's just semantics, but don't the corals "host" the clowns, much like a house hosts people? Not the other way around?
