Scooter Blenny

How likely is a Scooter Blenny to eat prepared food? My girlfriend saw one at the LFS on the weekend and wants to put one in the 10g Nano.

The AGA92 is getting a mandarin as soon as I can find one.

Same day mine was put in the tank, he was eating some pellets all my other fish won't. He'll destroy by home made shrimp/squid combo. In fact, he's usually quick to steal food from others.

Search around, and you'll find some good tutorials on how to train scooters and mandarins to accept frozen foods.

It's been a long time since I've tried to keep one, but those that I had would not accept frozen food. I did not put much effort into training them, as it was before the time of internet research for me. 10 gallons is pretty small, so it would be hopeless unless you were able to train them as pod populations would be destroyed in weeks if not days.

Mine seems to like "Prime Reef" frozen food... runs to the front of the tank when I'm feeding!!

Mine is a lot easier to feed than my mandarin ever was. He actually makes an effort to go after frozen food while the mandarin needs to "inspect" it's food for 5 seconds before eating it.

The only other things in the tank are the clean up crew (snails only) and a cleaner shrimp. So other than the cleaner shrimp, there shouldn't be any competition for food.

I have Formula 1 and 2 pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, Cyclop-eeze, and Coral Frenzy in my arsenal right now...anything I should look at adding?

I also plan on getting a copepod culturing station setup in the New Year to help keep the pod population in the AGA92 at peak capacity, I'll just make sure to add some to the 10g nano as well.

How would it be possible to keep one in a 10g tank without crashing it? Talk about a huge bioload!
