I just dont FRIGGIN understand this

Back ground info... 200g tank has been empty for 48 hours... then filled with water for another 48 hours before i got my salt from the fed x guy..2 buckets..added one full bucket to the 200g and aprox 28 cups of salt from bucket # 2 of salt to get my salanity to 1.023

did a 50% water change on my hospital tank out of salt bucket # 2.9(after below fish movment)

I moved my bamboo shark, remora, orbic batfish, and scribbled angel fish back into the 7 ft 200g tank(scribbled was in the hospital tank shark and remora were in a swimming pool in the bedroom and the batfish was in a copper treated hospital tank not the above mentioned hospital tank do to the fact of ich in the 200g and not able to treat the 200g with the shark in it hense the dry time and 100% new water in the 200g)

after about 4 hours the scribbled angel was on her death bed.. i moved her back to her orginal hospital tank(after the above mentioned water change) and i had written her off as dead and went to bed the shark, remora, and batfish were A OK

fast forward to wake up time this morning

Scribbled angel(in orginal hospital tank) is A OK
Orbic batfish dead as a doornail(in 200g)
Bamboo shark A OK (in 200g)
Remora A OK (in 200g)

I just dont understand how the scribbled can be 100% then on her death bead and all but dead then be 100% while the batfish was 100% then dead and the shark and remora was/is 100%

anybody care to give some insite to this???

Slowwwww Downnnnn....

Your tank needs to cycle before adding fish to it.

you probably killed off all the bacteria when you emptied it then added a massive bioload amount with nothing to convert the organics into nitrite & the nitrate. so you fish were probably swimming & breathing in a pool of ammonia. i suggest either removing them to their original locations and letting the tank actually cycle.

You had fresh water in the tank and then added salt to it? How long did you wait before adding fish to it? You need to give it time to mix correctly that way. Also agree with above post from Racing1, you need to cycle the tank before adding all those fish to it.

did you acclimate them when you put them into the 200g tank? and did you check the salinity before doing so?
