fs: mated pair cleaner shrimps

Bought these two guys to clean ich off of my tang a while back, and now they're bothering my harlequin shrimps. The cleaners have been together for about 5 months now and will spawn every few weeks. The spawn usually feeds the entire tank. It's pretty cool you see baby shrimps swimming around. They will also keep your fishes free of ich and eat detrius/leftover food.

Anyways I'd like to keep them together so it's one shrimp for $10 but if you buy both I'll let go of them for $15. From what I remember I bought them for $15 each at the lfs. These shrimps are about 1.5 inches long.

Pm if interested. Thanks.

Thanks for the interest everyone. I got quite a bit of interest with the shrimps and I will go down the list and reply to all of you. However I will give preference to people that are willing to pickup in Pasadena. I'll post here if shrimps are pending.

FWIW: Cleaner shrimp are hermaphrodites. If you have two, you automatically have a breeding pair and many times both will be carrying fertile eggs at the same time!
Kudos to you for selling them at a discounted price and not an inflated one.

Sorry guys. I was busy over the weekend. But update is I still can't catch the shrimps. I will try again tomorrow and when/if I do I will update this thread.

Phil is correct with the cleaner shrimps. They can go both ways.

I went to the lfs today and saw these shrimps go for 24.95 per shrimp.....is there an inflation?

Still available. I just can't catch them. Anyone got some advice on this topic? I've tried luring them out with food but they have gotten cautious with that. The net is too slow in the water to catch them. What else can I use?

try setting a trap maybe, something with the lid, and just drop the lid when they're inside munching on some food

I actually tried that with this half gallon bucket i have. they are very wary of it. haha. I think i scared them too much last week trying to catch them. I will try a smaller bucket/can tonight.

I don't know if this will work with shrimp... but I caught my damsels with a water bottle... you cut the top portion and flip it inside out and glue it back. This way they can swim in easy, but when they try to swim out, they swim along the sides and are unable to get out. Kind of hard to explain, but if you use a bigger water bottle, like a 1 liter bottle, this may work with the shrimp. Just make sure the hole is big enough for them to get in, and throw some food in there.

It worked like a charm with my damsels, they litterally went right in, took less than a minute! lol

GL, o and if my trick works, I get dibs!

I was just thinking about the same thing with the diy 2 liter coke bottles. I know they work for fishes, but not sure about shrimps. If or when you catch them shoot me a pm. Thanks!

Whatever you do, try not to catch them with a net. Use a clear container instead. Their legs will get broken once caught in the net and it's game over. I learned it the hard and stupid way.
