Bait and Switch?

I am getting madder every day that my polyps don't open. I went to my LFS on Sat and saw a demo nanno reef aquarium with a large spherical cluster of what the employee called green star polyps. These were large and flourescent green and I wanted some for my tank. He said that he had some that were not open but were identical to ones in the nanno reef tank. Stupidly I bought these for $36. The receipt says Clavularia viridis Got them home and acclimated them and when one finally came out, the polp was much smaller and had very little green. Went away for a few hours and my Foxface browsed on the colony. Now I have nothing but a few unopened small polyps, nothing like the specimen in the nano tank. . Are there different morphs of these polyps and next time should I buy the ones called metallic green?
This seems like bait and switch and I don't like it.

Sorry about this double posting. The other post said that is was rejected. This post is identical with the exception of the photo of the foxface.

Need to give it some time to adjust to a different water perimeters and flow rate. I have had then in my tank for over 2 years and from time to time they will close up for a few days when the water perimeters are not good.

Also what kind of lighting do you have?, and what kind of lighting did the LFS have then under?

Thanks, I have 8 T-5 bulbs on my tank with 4 Actinic white and the other 4 bluish. The nano tank had compact flourescents. I thought I was being patient because 2 days has passed.

if your fish was picking on it that would cause it to stay shut IMO

Yes just give it time. I got some star polyps the same way, but my LFS gave it to me because they thought it was dead. I knew that it would open in my tank becuase I have gotten other corals from them the same way. It took about a week before I started to see anything. Now they are blooming. Keep in mind that I have PCs
