hob filter to refugium
Another quick question ... have a hob filter on my 38 gallon that simply has a bag of chemipure in it. Someone told me that I should take out the chemipure and turn the hob filter into a fuge by putting some small pieces of live rock rubble and some chaeto (sp?) into the basket and putting a small clip-on light over the top (keeping the top off the filter). By doing this it will help keep nitrates down, help increase the pod population and cut down on algae in the main tank. Does this really work? Is it worth doing? Or am I better off just keeping the bag of chemipure in it? Thanks.

On smaller aquariums, these little hang-on refugiums can be very helpful, although your tank is kind of big depending on the size of the filter. If certainly can't hurt, though.
