Question about washing filter socks
What would be a safe choice to wash filter socks with?? I have been using the washing machine with no soap or detergants. Would washing powder be safe to use??

I wash mine in the washer. Small load, 1/4 cup bleach, and extra rinse. I let dry 24-48 hours, then rinse with RO before I swap it out.
Let the machine fill with water before adding the socks, so the bleach doesn't break them down.

Washing powder would be okay if the filter socks were rinsed thoroughly enough. Bleach is a fine, too.

Little bit of bleach, and then air-dry (outside preferred). Bleach oxidizes incredibly fast.

I wash it like normal with a little bleach, then run it thru 2 triple rinse cycles.

I turn mine inside out throw them in the washer with oxy bleach, wash them and air dry them for a couple of days.

Thanks for all of the responses, Its IMO its always best to err on the side of caution, which is the reason I posted the question in the Chemistry forum.
