ASM g6 in 24" of water - what can I use as a stand?

Just picked up a G6 and need to raise it off the bottom of the sump. The water in the sump is 24" deep, so does anyone have an idea on what I can use that will also not cause a dead spot under it? I was thinking of maybe 2 milk crates ziptied side by side (sump is 50"L x 26"W).

That is exactly what I was gong to suggest, milk crates, they are strong and should give you the height you need.

Milk crates would work well, also think about recirc modding the sedras on that skimmer, I have two recirc modded on mine and use the third as the feed, works great! Much much more consistent skimmate.

Strange thing about this G6 - only 2 pumps! They are Sedra 15000s. I'm going to put one of them into rec mode and wait a little while before I do the mesh mod to see what kind of results I get from the 15000 pump. I bought a gate valve, so I'll be doing a little glue sniffing tonight.

I love the skimmer, it just pulls and pulls! I put the gate valve on it, but still haven't done the mesh or rec mods yet. First week pulled 5 gallons of sludge out of the system!

Scott the 24" of water isn't a problem with my G5. You'll be fine.
