How much to feed anthias?
I have heard twice a day. How much?
I could dump 50lbs of fish food into the tank and those guys would scarf it down like it was their last meal. Last edited by tmcgaughey; 11/10/2008 at 10:57 PM. |

On the reef they eat all day long ,it is best to give many small feedings rather than a few larger ones. Twice a day in my opinion is not enough, three times at least

ok, 1-2 pinches at a time? I do a pretty big one in the morning and a mid sized one when i get home. tomarrow I'll make the smaller and and a feeding before bed
how will I know if I'm not feeding enough? another reason is i'm starting to get some bad issues with diatoms on bed of the tank and at the top of my LR |

Feed them as frequently as possible. Your current strategy (morning + get home from work +b4 bed) sounds like the most practical. If it's not working, fish will lose weight. In particular, look for a thinning of the nape (above the head, before the dorsal fin). Usually indicative of longterm malnutrition.
