Flushing my RO system
I bought a Pinnacle RO System and I can't figure out how to disconnect the tubing so I can flush the pre-filters. Does anyone have one of these and can tell me what to do? The instructions say:

I doubt if the fitting is yellow but the 1/4" tubing might be. What you are looking for is the line that comes out of the vertical carbon block housing and travels up to the horizontal RO membrane housing, it probably is the one with a single line in the center of the RO housing not two lines.
Disconnect that line either by unscrewing the compression nut or if it is a John Guest type fitting pushing in on the small lock ring with your finger nails and while you have it pushed in slip the tube out. Flush the filters for a couple minutes then reconnect it. If its RO only then flush the fisrt couple of gallons of RO water to waste too to rinse the membrane, your TDS meter will tell you when you have reached as low as the TDS will go. If its an RO/DI remove the DI cartridge or disconnect it before flushing the RO to aste so you do not pass the high TDS rinse on to the resin wearing it out prematurely. Once the RO is flushed reinstall the DI and do a final flush on it too, again the TDS meter will tell you when it is flushed sufficiently. |

Hey! Thanks for the help!
It was a John Guest type fitting, so no wonder it wouldn't come unscrewed. Guess Seachem needs to re-write their user manual. |
