broken koralia powerhead

So the little red piece that held the powerhead to the mount snapped today. I have had the powerhead for 7 months. The warranty says it is good for 24 months. I have the box and receipt.

Has anyone else had this porblem? Did Hydor honor the warranty?

My hydor's work great but I would think they would honor their warranty.

I had that problem several times. Doubt it would be covered though since its been broken by force (not that it takes much with those pieces of...). I think the warranty covers just stuff like the motors and normal ware.

I just took them snapping as a sign to move on to a quality product

I have never had that red / round mound snap.......HOWEVER......I think that design is the worst thing that I have seen since AMC came out with the PACER in the 70's.........Fish bowl on wheels

I am working on a much better mount for the Koralia.

I built one & testing it in my tanks....So far the snails have not knocked it off the mount..... It has not fallen out of the mount ... It has not snapped off.........so far, way better then the stock mount

Dude you mocked my ride. :O

If they tell me it was broken by force I'm going to laugh at them. I bumped it with my elbow.

I actually love how it works, but if they don't honor this I'll be done with hydors. 7 months is not long enough for the materials to be snapping. There ball design should have absorbed the "blow".

Contact them and see. I found them to have great customer service when my Koralia 4 stopped working. They shipped a new one right out.

This happened to me a while back. They are extremely good with customer service. I just emailed them and told them what happened, two days later I had not just a new red piece, but a whole new magnet assembly dry and wet.

I had a broken motor on a koralia one, brought it back to the store and they handed me a new one.

The motor on my K4 died. No life from it at all. It looks to me like the epoxy they used to seal the back of the motor housing has corroded and crumbled. I took it out of the tank about a month ago and saw it in my pile of supplies. I decided to give it another go. Made sure everything was clean, aligned properly, no luck. I am betting some water leaked in and killed it through the epoxied area. Since I have no idea where the receipt is (probably destroyed it) I will probably crack it open at some point and see if a leak was truly the problem.
