A Guide to Using Calcium Reactor
The kalk reactor is limited by your tank evaporation rate, and might not be able to provide enough calcium & alk for your tank. Many of us use it with a calcium reactor, but its main role is to raise the pH of the water. The calcium reactor does most of the work providing the calcium & alk. If you have to choose one, I recommend getting the calcium reactor rated for your tank first. It'll provide all the calcium & alk that your tank need for longest run time. If you have an ATO you can mix (1 to 2 teaspoons per gallon) kalk directly into your RO/DI water storage container and skip the kalk reactor all together. |

I reccomend the aquariumplants.com c02 regulator. I've had mine for 3 years and the only problem I had was fixed immediately by them(they sent me a brand new unit). Never has it overdosed co2 and never has it just stopped.
I have used the milwaukee m3 and JBJ guages and they worked good, but nothing as "problemless" as the aquarium plants one. If you get a meter than I would get the pinpoint, as i prefer the extra decimal place they give you on the readout. But if your going to use a controller (not really needed) then I would go with the Milwaukee as theirs is quite a bit cheaper than Pinpoint....... it just doesn't have the extra decimal place.
