PFO HQI Ballast Cord to Pendant Length?

Guys,
I'm running a new 20K SE bulb/pendant on a new PFO HQI ballast. Does the length of the cord from the ballast to the pendant matter? I have the PFO modular cord wired to the pendant cord with about 14 feet total length. Thanks.

should not matter! mine is about the same

The recommended wire length for a PFO ANSI M80 250-watt (HQI) ballast is 5 feet. The absolute longest wire length depends on the wire type but should not be longer than 16 feet total. The ignition voltage (starting voltage) degrades with wire distance. Using longer wire lengths will lower the ignition voltage and could cause unreliable lamp starting.
