Dolphin Pumps User Experience needed

It seems that most of the external return pumps used by reefers today are Sequence pumps. I saw a good amount of Dolphin pump selection from Custom Aquatics but I think they had issues with their saltwater seal as well as heat transferring issue. Anyone with Dolphin pump care to share their experience here? Thanks.

My sump is in the basement and I T off the pump for other applications I have.

TIA~

I have a 3000 still running that is going on 7 years old. Only put a new seal in it twice and the first one would have gone longer, but I did a crummy job on installation. The seal that is in it now is going on 4 years with no problems and it is not the APS.

I had to change the seal after a year and then about 2 years after that. It never leaked, just wouldn't restart when the power was cut. The seals easy to replace but the pumps down for a day..

Thanks for the reply guys, so if you have the chance, would you buy the pump again?

I recently did just that. Picked up a newer style 3000/4000 for another project.

Other than Golfish, do any of you have issues with pump restarting after power outage?

Thanks.
