Shrimp and clams

Well I got a corcea clam and it looks like the cleaner shrimp is trying to eat it. So is it trying to eat it or is it cleaning it or what. It is a normal cleaner shrimp

Depend on the health condition of the clam... A healthy clam will be able to close the shells quickly and usually not be botherred by inverts. Are they just cleaning the outer shells? How does the clam react?

If the clam is on the way out, I can see why the shrimps are all over it. Do you have a pic?

No lights are off and clam was closed up and the shrimp was clawing at its foot. It looks very healthy durring the day, bright colors, full mantel extention, and responds very fast to things

In my experience, the shrimp only go after the ailing clams.........
