HELP! Macr Algae Dying

My macro algae on my fuge is turning very pale and the water in the tank is cloudy. Is this a bad thing?

Yeah. its dying. Could be new water that you used, or there are chemicals in the water. Another possiblilyt/cause :The algae could've been out of water for some time which caused it to die. Regardless, if your water returns to the condition it once was (whether it's things like pH, salinity, ammonia, etc. or water level, the algae will grow back). Happened to me about a couple weeks ago, dont worry it grows back.

Been doing a little reading and I think the algae went sexual and released its spores in the water. This some info I found. Deffinately somthing to keep in mind.

Im assuming the algae you have is in fact caulerpa, then?
