It could be there is copper in the tank. Was it new or used?

Watch you step with other inverts and do some large water changes for the next couple of weeks. If there was copper present, water changes, will dilute it to safe levels over time.

You can definately test your tank for copper. They have test kits for it.

how long did you acclimate them for,,did you add them all at once,,they are extremely suc to any change in salinity and temp, yours are good however the shop they came from might not be so good, if the sho p is at say 021 and your at 024 it can take from a few minutes to a few days for them to perish. young and strong enough will live rest will die with time as your descibing,,something to check for when you reintroduce more of them, if its way off then drip acc for 2-4 hours and all should struggle but do fine. just something to look for good luck

You can test for copper, but the resolution of the test kits isn't fine enough to detect toxic levels of it. The kits are for measuring therapeutic levels of copper, which are orders of magnitude higher than the levels toxic to inverts. A positive test will confirm that you have a problem, but a negative test will not tell you that you don't have a copper issue.

Low salinity would be one suspect. ow are you testing it?
