clown hosting leather coral.
I am in the process of swithing a fish only with live rock tank over to a reef tank. My maroon clown spends a good deal of time trying to use my leather coral as an anomene. The leather does not like me touching it. I am not sure if the clown is having much effect. Whoud I be better off, getting a anomene sooner rater than later. any other thoughts appreciated.

If the coral does not want you touching it I am only guessing the clown will irritate it. Also I am not sure if the leather corals sting but some do. I would get a nice anemone for your clown. It makes a great addition to a reef tank. Your clown and the anemone will thank you, as well as the leather. Good luck you'll love your reef tank.

If the leather keeps its polyps out, then you should be fine. I have had a clown kill and open brain

couple of things to note:
1- anemones are not the easiest to take care of. water quality must be spot on, adequate flow and the proper lighting is required. 2- just because you add and anemone does not mean your clown host in it, it may prefer the leather or it may take some time for it to take to the anemone |
