Question My first corals(how to place them)(pics)

I got 4 new corals this weekend...frogspawn, duncan, zoa frag and sps frag-cant remember the name.

I have read some people glue them to rockwork with loctite brand superglue gel...

How would you mount these?

Do people just set them in place?

I was thinking of just putting the frogspawn in the corner on the sand bed...read it stings-fairly aggressive.

I was thinking of putting the duncan on a rock about 1/4 from the bottom.

zoas on a lower rock in the middle of the tank.

The sps on an upper rock...glue it just like it is to a rock?

i wouldnt place that montipora digita there yet that may be the best ultimate place for it but you have to let it adjust to the lighting change as well as the chemistry change.

you may already know that but i just wanted to help you avoid some of he newbie mistakes weve all made.

Thanks...its at the bottom now and I plan on moving it up over time...I was thinking moving it 4 times 1 week apart each time...of course watching it for signs of stress and what not..

Sound good?

Thanks for bringing that up...all suggestions welcome!

ya thats fine you can actually move it faster if you want
the careful way to do it is to give it 2 weeks then move it half way up and you can move it all the way up after about a week either way works.

oh and the other coral placements sound great you could even leave the duncans on the sand if you have space they look pretty cool when you get a bush growing in the sand bed.

I think all of the placements you mentioned are good. Duncans don't like a ton of flow or light so keep that in mind. Zoas, I think can live in coffee....lol so You can put those any where, lower would probably be better though as they don't require a lot of light either. Frog would be great on the bed.
What kind of lighting do you have? And what kind of lighting did the Digi come from. , for the most part agree with light acclimation, but with out know the current a previous lighting it is impossible to suggest that you start out low. For example, when I buy a coral from my favorite LFS he runs 3 400W MH's, I run a single 250W, so I am completely comfortable placing corals where I like. Most Digi's don't require a ton of light either so you may be perfectly fine placing just about anywhere.
