Removing sand from DT putting it in sump

I've got a 4" sand and I want to reduce it to 2", I'll put the sand in one of my sumps. Is there any concern with that?

there could be.

It depends on how long it's been there.

If it's been there for a while it could be acting as a DSB.
If you were to remove the top portion and mix it up it could have some negative results.

I've personally never used a DSB so mabey someone else could chime in

The sand has been in there for less than 2 months
