Lumenmax Elite & Height from Water - 38x26x20 Rimless

What are Lumenmax Elite (400w SE) users using for the distance from bulb to water?

I'm having a custom suspended light fixture made today but need to give my contractor a distance. I've told him it likely will be 14". I'll be able to adjust the light up or down an inch, but my feeling is it won't really be necessary on a 38x26x20 tank....but I want to be as accurate as possible because changing the parameters "after-the-fact" will be a pain.

It's an SPS system and I'll be using a Radium 400w with Galaxy ballast.
