Sorry about your loss. Sounds like it might be time to find a new LFS.

You probly know what to do but. I had a irridecent shark kept getting ick. I finally found the best freshwater treatment.
slowly heat the tank up to 82-84 leave at this temp for 4 weeks. During this time the heat will speed up the ick cycle. Add Kosher salt. 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. I would do this 1 tablespoon per hour till you are there. Dont just dump it in, mix it in water first to disolve. Freshwater ick can not live in the salted water. The fish usually can. Over the next four weeks when you do your water change if you take 5 gallons out put 5 gallons in and 1 tbls salt. After four weeks slowly lower your temp to normal range. We keep the salt in at all times.

Did you tank have a sudden drop in temp over the last few weeks--this can bring on a case of fresh water ich.

I'm also seeing alot of Ich cases lately. I never though of the temp. I usually heat tanks to about 85 and treat with cupramine. I try not to treat with cory cats, loaches or koi.

If you are anywhere near NW Washington, I just had like 300 of them dumped on me (I'm a sucker for a free fish tank..)

I treated the new convict with Malachite green been treating for three days like directions said. Just got home fish looks good all spots gone. The LFS said all fish have ich and transporting stress brings it out. I've tranported fish from store to home never had this happen.
