Another Powerhead Placement Thread

So I've read so many freaking posts and web pages that discuss powerheads and suggested locations, yet I still don't feel comfortable with the information. They all seem to suggest locations based on not having a wavemaker / timer, which doesn't help me.

So here is my tank info. It's 45g, 36 x 18 x 16. The live rock is in the formation of a lagoon sort of like this:

I plan on having corals all over the place in this setup. I have 4 maxi-jet 900s right now, but only 3 in use on 15 minute timers. If you use the diagram above, one is in the top right corner, mid level just shooting behind the rocks. Another is above it angled to the opposite corner (lower left corner in the above diagram). The last is in the upper left corner angled to the lower right corner, again if you use the diagram.

For a brief period on the timers both the upper corner powerheads might be on which will create turbulence in the middle area, but otherwise they will only be on one at a time. I've put them this way because I don't like the sand to move so much, like it does if I angle them more toward the front center of the glass.

What should I do? Should I use the 4th powerhead I have and put it somewhere?

I might be making too much of powerhead and locations like theres some "perfect" setup or something, but it's bothering me like it could be better than what it is!

It all depends on what type of corals u are trying to grow and also your question is really a matter of opinion in my sps tank i put as much chaotic flow as i could without the sand flying around i think i had about 6300 gph in a 100 gal tank between return and power heads so just try something and see how u like it and how its works for u and if its not good then change it until u find something u like!
