New Danner HY-Drive
Anyone have any experience with this new line?

One thing that would make me think twice is this image of one with the cover off. Looks like a Resun OEM. Resun pumps dont have the best reputation.

we used the hydrives in setting up the new shop and they're junk. the copper windings are part of the impellor and are exposed on the bottom on the smaller (4800) pumps. they all have cheap stainless steel jacketed impellors that expose the copper when worn down within 1-2 months.
we pulled them all out and replaced them with quiet ones (but the 14000 has exposed aluminum heat sinks in the back and only goes external here.) |

the 14000's are the bigger pumps we put on the 525 gallon display. the smaller ones we run (9000's) have a back fully encased in epoxy and are fine internal or external.
good news is that Danner brought the Mag2400 back into production. I love my Mags. |
