Question on Workhorse 5 wiring

I am setting up a 6 bulb t5 setup in my canopy(3 48" x54wt Retro kits with individual reflectors) and I want the two outer lights on one ballast and then I want the other 4 to come on together. Now the question is can I wire the 4 bulbs to one plug, or is it to much for one plug. I will be using 3 ballasts one for the outer bulbs and then two more for the 4 inner one's.

I don't see why not but IMHO I would not do this . Just buy a timer that has two plugs for it . It would let two ballasts fire up at the same time . Can be found at lowes or HD for about 10.00

A workhorse 7 can run the 4x54W bulbs, but I don't think the WH5 can. It's designed to run a specific 'length' and wattage. As mordibv says, you can plug the two ballasts into one timer by using those plug receptacle expansions, you know the ones that expand a plug into 3 from one receptacle.

You can wire them into one plug. There's not enough load there to over heat anything.
