225 Reef 490 gal total system Build Thread

So I guess I'll start my own thread about my progress here. I just started with fish a few months ago and I don't see anyone saying that they wish they had a smaller tank so i guess I am going to go big from the start. I plan on having a 3 tank system on a shared sump with a completion date of ~ august 2009 (completion meaning there is at least 1 fish in the 225). Also as something different I will keep track of prices, but I wont tell my fiance where the thread is. Oh god if she only knew.

Right now I have the following

65 Gallon RR Tank - Temporary Predator tank, eventual display refugium with DSB, Jawfish and chaeto in a sectioned off area.

Running on a Berlin XL skimmer and 150-175 lbs of live rock and a rubbermaid sump. Flow is provided by a eheim 600 gph submersible return pump and 2x 1200 GPH ebay powerheads. Lighting is a simple 30 watt 50-50 T12 bulb.
65 Gallon RR Tank

Stocking: Currently Mollies and a rotting shrimp: Will add the following (don't worry they will move to a 125 before august):

Dog Faced Puffer
Volitan Lion
Harlequin Tusk
Snowflake Eel
Kole Eye Tang
Dragon Wtrasse
Rabbit Fish of sort

Thats it for what is set up now.

In the garage i have the following:
225 gallon acrylic peninsula tank 6'x2'x30" high
-4x Little Giant MD4 Pumps (I will sell these before setting it up and replace with a lower wattage low pressure submersible)
-Black laminate Wooden Stand (I will likely sell this as well and build my own, not sure yet).
-2x 250w MH ballasts mogul and lamp (need reflectors and to build a canopy)
-2x 100w VHO with ballast and moguls (ditto)
-Chiller (wont need will be sold)
-Ozone generator (debating if I will use will need to buy a controller...)
-A DIY (I think) skimmer. It is just a tube inside a box with a neck and a cup, dont have any of the lines of pumps needed to run it. I think I will sell it to someone looking to make a DIY skimmer with a modded pump type deal as it is a nice piece of acrylic tube)

What i will be buying in the next 8 months.

I am looking for a 125g RR tank to use for the predator tank, RR with stand and canopy with simple lighting, like a 100w VHO 50/50.
ASM G-4X Skimmer - I am on a bit of a budget and I would like to avoid paying much over 500 for the skimmer and this seems to fit the bill.
Low pressure return pumps for the 225
4 more of the 1200 gph ebay powerheads (assuming they last for a while)
Another ~200 lbs of LR

Overall plan.

In the end I want the tank setup as follows
225 Reef
125 Predator
65 Refugium/Jawfish
75 Sump below the 225
ASM G4x in the 75 gal sump
Submersible return pumps (I guess I will need 3 with one alot bigger then the other two

Stocking:

225:
Large Tangs, school of ~7 anthias (lyretail?), mandarin goby, other interesting reef safe fish. Wrasses that don't need sand (are there any?) Mixed Corals, mostly acro and softies I suspect.

125:
Listed Above

65:
~12 Jawfish, possible other sand sifting gobies I will need to research what I could have in there with the jawfish and no rocks etc.

Thougts:

I will be running BB in the 225 and 125 and sump is this acceptable?
Lionfish will be purchased tomorrow I imagine.

Cost to date:
65g, rubbermaid sump, skimmer, 50-50 in the 65 $220
Heaters 2x Stealth 150w $50
Live Rock $300
225 Tank and stand and Little Giant pumps, crappy skimmer, stand, chiller lights $600
Plumbing $20
Ebay Powerheads $37

Total: $1227

Pictures will follow maybe tomorrow, LMK if there is anything special you want to see.
