Ouch expensive part for GRI pumps

Ok I'll be the first to say that I should not have used teflon tape on my 1" bard that I screwed into the pump. Unfortunately it cracked the pump intake housing. No big deal I thought I'll just order a replacement part from GRI.

Well it was $80.00 plus shipping. I'm sure the pump is great and am looking forward to using it. But. . . thats almost half the price I could have purchased a velocity pump for. Ol well live and learn. I was wondering why a lot of aquarium stores aren't carrying GRI anymore, now I know.
