Will I Cycle?

My tank has been running for about 2 months now and Im really not happy with my sand base so im thinking about adding more live sand. My question is will I cycle If I add like a nother 20lbs? of live sand? My other question is what is the best way to add sand in after water and rock is in. I have heard to just put it in small cups and lower it in slowly letting the cup fill with water any other suggestions?

i would turn off the powerheads and the place the sand in little plastic bags that you lower slowly. there's no real easy way to do it. i added live sand maybe 3 time before i was happy with it and every time, i made a huge sandstorm no matter how careful i tried to be!

take a funel and a pice 0f 1 1/2" PVC cut the bottom of the funel to just fit into the PVC and scoop the sand into the funel slow you will have a little get into the water but not nearly as much

make sure you rinse the sand first to get rid of the really fine particles. It will help reduce the sandstorm.
