Do i need a lux meter or a par meter?

Can someone explain if a lux meter is of any use to determine how efficient my bulbs are? Is the milwaukee one any good???

measures the intensity of light. So you can just look at the bulb and say its not bright enough or look at a meter to tell a number.

So w/ the lux meter you would measure the bulb when it is brand new. When would you replace the bulb? 50% efficiency???
