Pool Pumps?
Has anyone used a Hayward Power-Flo pool pump to run there system. There much cheaper than Pumps for aquariums. What is the difference?

I don't think pool pumps are made to run continuously and they use a lot of power. Also I doubt the seals are made to handle saltwater.

Alot of times poolpumps will have metal part which are harmful to are reefs.

Metal, oil filled, and not saltwater safe. Pool pumps of certain types are ment to run 24/7 though. If you found a pump that didn`t have the problems listed in first line- then no problem.

That's not always the case, A lot of pumps made for pools, and spa's even are made to run in a saline environment as a lot of pools nowadays are run brackish.
