Are XM bulbs bluer???

I just purchased replacement bulbs and splurged for XM DE bulbs on MH lights since I been hearing how wonderful they are for a few years now. I replaced a 15K and the color was very similar but, I replaced a 20K Coralvue with a 20K XM and the color difference is dramatic.

Will these bulbs "lighten up" after a week or so of use or I am going to have this very blue zone in my tank now?

I haven't personally run them, but I have seen 400w XM SE on a PFO ballast & I thought they were very dim. I liked the color - but just dimmer than I expected.

I run a 250w 20k Radium on a BlueWave3 - and it's white with a good blue tint to it.

Those bulbs are fairly blue. Give it some time to burn in. Usually after 100 hours of use, it will burn to its proper look.

I'm guessing/ hoping they might be dimmer. I use single end 175 watt 20k on my 240 reef and just set up a 11 x3 tank with cheap ebay bulbs and it is soooo much brighter than the 240- i just ordered some xm's for the big tank and expect it to be more eye appealing.

They are on the blue side, but less blue than a Radium or A Helios

I am on day #4 now and it already seems a little less blue.
