alien growing in tank
have odd things growing in my tank, they look like strings of silicone, however they seem to grow, and are now everywhere behind the stones. You can see in the picture the strings on the rocks if you look closely. Is this good news or bad news? What is it? It seems to have stemed off a colonial tunicate that grew on one of the rocks some time ago, though it has now dissapeared.

There is no picture but what you are describng sounds like some sort of sponge. ( Harmless filter feeder, some can sting those with sensitive skin.)
