? for Reef Fanatic ATO Owners

OK, I just setup my Reef Fanatic ATO unit with this float configuration:

My question is if I have set the unit up correctly will the indicator lights for float 1 and float 2 both be on when the pump is not running? That is the way it is displaying now and the directions lack specificity so I wanted to make sure.

The indicator lamps are on when the float is tripped. In mode A when float 1 is down, the lamp is on. When the level rises enough to trip float 2, the lamp comes on. This should not happen during normal operation.

Ok, thanks. Maybe I have both floats upside down. Hmmm.

Maybe.
Float 1 down lamp on
Float 2 up lamp on
is the way it should be. Flip the float the other way if it is not.

Ok so how do the floats work? Do they magnetically activate a switch? I attached the float switch holders to some acrylic with superglue and then attached the acrylic to magnets with superglue. If they are magnetic it might explain why one of the float lights always stays on.

The other float switch seems to work properly. Any way to brake the bond of superglue without breaking the acrylic if this is the case?

Darn, I thought I was being smart the way that I was mounting it.

Yes, magnets (I think). Try fingernail polish remover.

I glued mine to little magfloats using aquarium silicone.

Looking at that, I am wondering if a magnet would have any affect on the float, since (obviously) the mag float has a magnet in it. I just unplugged #2 and am running the controller with only the #1 float valve, which sucks since I intentionally bought it because it had two float switches. I will try the nail polish remover tomorrow to try to reposition the magnet away from the float and see if that makes any difference. IF not, I might have a bad float.

With that setup, the mag float mounts are not near the float switches and do not affect them.
