I've seen my cerinths lay eggs on a number of occasions, though I've never seen any babies (at least none that I i.d. as cerinths).

Funny. I never seen my lay eggs, but I see the babies and juvi's when the lights go out. When I started my tank I put a dozen in there. Just a couple of weeks ago, we stood and stopped counting at 50!!!! They were all over the glass.

I've had this happen to me several times... but still no new ceriths. I'm jumping on board but I think the answer will be little to no success.

yea, I was just wondering. I never had snails lay eggs in my tank before. I read an article on google that if snails lay eggs they are happy snails

My cerith snails are very successful breeders. At one point I had hundreds of tiny ceriths covering the glass. But I added a wrasse and he thinks they are great snacks. Oh well. A few still manage to survive.

He's a redheaded fairy wrasse and pretty good size. I don't think your 6-line should eat them. Oh I should add that the huge increase of snails happened when there were no fish in the tank. It had an ick outbreak, so I took all the fish out to be treated and left the tank fishless for several weeks. I think the fish eat the eggs and that's why I didn't notice any baby ceriths when the fish were in the tank. Since I've put the fish back in, I've seen a few more new baby snails, but not even close to what happened when it was fishless.

No. Have had cerith snails lay eggs in the tank but I never did see any offspring. The collonista snails seemed to be the only ones who got it right.
