Near Death Clown.

Hey. I cleaned out my AC50 yesterday. I put it all back together and everything was shiny as a new penny. Well, I forgot to put the intake tube back on so there was just the 1/2" intake sitting right below the surface. In my normal obsessed way, I looked into the tank last night at around 9 PM only to NOT see my juvenile black false perc. I was looking like mad all over the place. I thought he had jumped and that my Jack Russell Terriorist ate him. After about ten minutes of sulking and being mad I figured I better look into the filter. And there he was... stuck between the exhaust and the filter pad. He was swimming like mad and jumped right back into the main tank. I watched him closely for about twenty minutes. He was a bit skittish but for the circumstances doing very well. He is still alive this morning. Looks great aside from the crash marks on him. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. Anything I should know about a little fish after trauma?

I wouldn't do any sudden chemical changes in the water and try and keep everything as normal as possible for awhile.

Good luck.

I don't do any chemicals anyway. He is alive, but breathing fast. I just hope he pulls through. I never wanted a fish but my wife made me get him for the kid. She did not understand the concept of a fish tank with no fish. He looks about 50/50 right now. He did not eat either.

Hang in there. Fish will sometimes go days without eating if stressed.

I just QTd the other clown due to bad behavior. He was picking at the sick one. How long should I keep them separate? The other one is floating in a glass vase in the display. Seems fine.
