Looks like it. Could be lopezi or breviostis

I'll take Lopezi based on the color pattern

I got it from LFS and they said it was a Blue spotted tang. When I got home I did some research and I am concern it is a Vlamingi. It is currently in a 150 bow front and its eats like another child and is about 4 inches long

It appears to be a Vlamingi. Vlamingi is in the Unicorn tang family like a naso. Those suckers get big.

+1 on the Vlamingi because of this coloration and pattern.

If it is lopezi than it will be tight, if it is a vlamingi that tank will be too small in no time. T

I would say vlamingii - the lips look a little strange, but I would still say vlamingii.
They get big really fast, and eat like pigs. I had a large school in a big tank - within 6 months they got to the size where when I dumped in some cleaner shrimp they ate them! Check out this fatty: ![]() |

Ok then what size tank do yall recommend so that way I dont have to worry about upgrading later because I went alittle small with a 240.
Do you have any more pictures of your adult Vlamingi's

As for tank size they are totally bulletproof so I would not worry about him stressing out or dying from lack of space in the 240 - you are just going to have to keep up on water changes - they will ahem... "cloud" the tank a few times a day - not pretty, they are basically cows! Ideally you will want something bigger than the 240, but I think it will be ok.

Ok, thanks for scaring me. One thing I am either going to take him back or let my friend have it when it gets too big. When I got him the fish that was not happy was my white face tang. Every time he/she came out the white face tang circle it until it wet back in the LR. After 36 hours there are like best buds.

imo, definitely Naso lopezi. By that size, N. vlamingii usually have developed the "lump" on the top of your head. Based on how flat the top of the head region is, I say it's lopezi.
