Freshwater vs Saltwater

Here is my situation. I have a 90gal FW and a 55gal SW tank. I would like to switch them since my SW are getting bigger. I have a temp 125gal home for the FW fish while this is happening. What would be the best way to make the switch. Main questions:
1) how to clean the tanks when they are empty before the livestock is put in.
2) should i add new sand for the SW tank and get rid of some of the old stuff
3) How to make sure the cycle is as small as possible if it happens. (I plan on reusing all of the current SW and making up the difference with new SW)

1. vinegar wipedown and then a good rinse should do.
2. I would use mostly new dry sand w/ just some of your old live sand. I like a thin layer on top and bottom of the new sand but there are probably varying opinions on this.
3. Using old water will make sure the change is less drastic but contain very little beneficial bacteria. Your bacteria is going to be in your sand, rock or media in your filter.

Current Tank Info: broken and dry
