new set up, got some ?s on my LR
the live rock i picked up was bought within an hour or so of it arriving at the store. The only thing that bugs me is its not really rock lol. Its like big chunks of dead sps coral. No worms, no hitch hikers at all. Some tiny sea fans and stuff, dont really see any real coraline algae although its all a brown color except on area on a piece where its bleached out and has green algae.
ive got the tank set up and its been running for 2 days now. Just kinda of concerned about having no worms or anything to help out. The tank is a 20g and a FOWLR. So far i dont even have CUC in there yet. 12lbs base rock 9lbs of this live rock/dead coral lol |

well first you should not have bought it if you did not like the way it looked and second dont worry, enough things will appear over time and coraline will cover the rocks.
the good news is the chance of pest goes down |

no i like the way it looks and mixed with the base rock it gives some variety to the tank, was just iffy about if its what i needed or not. Just was concerned over the lack of things on it.
LFS said i might not have much of a cycle at all because its so fresh? when should i start noticing nitrates spiking etc. if i am going to have a cycle? |
