Small spikes on rock

I have this small 1cm spikes growing out of my live rock. Its even growing on the shell of my clam. Everything seems healthy but what are these spikes? They are not soft but rather very rigid. If you can see the spots on the rock this is the spikes I'm talking about. I wish I had a better closeup.

That actually is a good picture.
I have exactly the same things.

I was told that they are vermetid snails.

Do you have a bunch of fairly flat small snails in your tank?
I think that they find a nice place and then become those spikes.

Do you have any tubes that are considerably bigger but also are hard and seem to spit out a web like net?

I was also told that they are no problem.

I've looked around and haven't found any natural predator and the only suggestion from people is to break the tubes off.
I don't know if this kills the snail or they just regroup and build elsewhere.

Good Luck.

I have them too, one person said they had blue leg hermits that ate them, but not sure if there is any real reason to get rid of them anyway

Thats a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone. It looks pink because of the lights I run. I run 2 Procolors to make my tank look pink, hehe.

The anemone split about 4 months ago and now I have two, hehe. They are hosted by 2 GSM clowns

i miss my rose bubble tip anemone.

I had it for about 4 years... split 3 times. gave one to my dad, the other two ate it in maxi-jets.

I have since modified the maxi jets by drilling holes in the intake to redirect intake in case something clogs the main... im going to replace them with koralis
